Work in progress in Brussels

On November 10th, 2022, the European Commission adopted its bill to define the future Euro 7 standard which will apply to new trucks in 2027. This text does not address CO2 emissions. It must now be debated in the European Parliament and will likely not be adopted before 2024. Compared to Euro 6, the new standard should lead to a reduction by 2035 of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 56% for trucks and a reduction in fine particle emissions of 39%. In concrete terms, Brussels wants to lower the maximum threshold for NOx to 350 mg/km for cold emissions and to 90 mg/km for hot emissions.
