Geographical disparities

Almost 42% of all charging points for electric cars in the EU are concentrated in only two countries: the Netherlands (111,821 chargers) and Germany (87,674). These two countries together make up less than 10% of the entire EU surface area. The rest of the chargers are scattered throughout the remaining 90% of the region’s area. The Netherlands, the country with the highest share of infrastructure, has almost 70 times more charging points than Romania (1,658), which is roughly seven times bigger.
