End of petrol cars

The European Union delayed a key vote on an effective ban on combustion-engine cars. Germany, Italy, Poland, and Bulgaria unexpectedly voiced last-minute objections amid concerns about how the bloc’s green plans will effect industry. EU and German officials are in talks over how to reach a compromise to allow the use of e-fuels in new cars after 2035. This key vote would bring about the de facto cessation of sales of new petrol and diesel cars and light commercial vehicles in the EU on this date, as well as hybrids (petrol-electric), in favour of 100% electric vehicles.
